Rare Vladimir Kagan Arm Chairs c. 1970s (sold in pairs)
An exceptionally uncommon set of Vladimir Kagan armchairs for Kagan Design, New York, c. pre-1970
sold in pairs
These sculptural chairs reflect Kagan's mastery of fluid form and structure, with bentwood frames that flow seamlessly from arm to leg. The design feels architectural while remaining soft in presence.
This form is rarely documented. The final image included comes from a Kagan Design Inc. publication and is the only known printed reference to this design that we could find. We were able to find a pair that auctioned a few years back that had tags present.
Would be awesome as armchairs in front of a desk in an office, or as sculptural seating in a living room or dinette setting.
Larger and more generously scaled than typical dining chairs.
Newly upholstered in a nubby green textile.
