“Edward Edson Nichols was a professor of art at the University of Texas PanAmerican (now UTRGV) for 33 years, retiring from teaching in 1999. During those decades, dozens of artists passed through his classrooms, benefiting from his teaching as well as from his generous, kind nature. Nichols loved south Texas, and his art work celebrates the beautiful landscapes and traditions of the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico”.
